Week 26 Doctor Appointment

I had another doctor's appointment on Tuesday. Dr. McKernan always does a quick ultrasound and during this one, Baby B was punching my belly. I just love seeing their little arms and legs!

Both babies were in breech position so hopefully within the next 9 weeks they'll both flip. I'm not holding my breath, though!

I asked Dr. McKernan about my latest pregnancy symptom. Every night, both my hands fall asleep. It starts around 3 am and about every .5-1 hour, I have to change positions for my hands. It's the weirdest thing! Not only is it aggravating to wake up so often, but when I try to turn off my alarm, it's almost impossible because my hands are limp. Dr. McKernan said it's carpal tunnel syndrome. Great! Just great! He suggested I get wrist braces. We'll see. I still get tingling sometimes during the day, but it's not nearly as bad as at night. I just hope it doesn't act up when I'm working on my laptop. I won't be able to work!

Visits from IL

Last week we had two sets of friends from Illinois drove all the way to Phoenix. It is rare when people will visit from IL, let alone two separate sets during one week.

Our friends, Kent and Alesia, arrived last Tuesday and stayed with us until Saturday. It was so much fun to see them. They enjoyed our lovely Arizona weather and were able to check out several different hiking spots throughout the Valley. On Saturday we went to the Chicago Cubs v White Sox spring training baseball game. It was so much fun! I've always wanted to go to a Cubs game but never did while Eric and I lived in Chicago. This game was even more fun because of the rivalry with the Sox. It was like our own little bit of Chicago here in Phoenix. We thoroughly enjoyed their visit and can't wait to see them again.

My former coworker, Michelle, from good ol Laurel Volvo/Jaguar also came to visit with her fiance, DJ. It was so great to catch up with an old friend! We were able to chat over a late lunch on Thursday and had the greatest time. It makes me really miss my Chicago friends.

Accountant's website

Accountants, specifically auditors, enjoy making fun of themselves. I think it's because they have such a different job and love making jokes that only each other would understand.

I love getting joke emails specific to accounting (like the funny tickmark explanations) and thought this website my coworker told me about was really funny. Since there are a few accountants who follow this blog, I thought I'd post the link for you all.

Here it is:

3D pics of Baby A at 24 weeks

Here are the 3D pictures of Baby A. The tech said that next month Baby B should be in a better position and big enough for the 3D ultrasound.

Week 24 Doctor Appointment

This week marks my twenty-fourth week of pregnancy. I can't believe I'm six months pregnant!

I had an ultrasound and doctor's appointment on Monday. Eric was able to join me for the ultrasound. That was very special because Baby A was in a good position and is large enough to have a 3D picture taken. It was so cool! We got to see some of the baby's features. Because of the way 3D pictures are taken, some parts of the body doesn't come out. So the baby's nose looked smashed and not formed properly. The hands also look like clay globs. It was so great, though, to be able to see more of the baby after only seeing the profile for awhile.

Baby A measured at 1 lb 12 oz. and is almost one week ahead of schedule. Baby B measured 1 lb 2 oz. and is a day behind schedule.

The doctor's visit was pretty boring. I asked the doctor about these episodes I've been having where I get really winded and my heart feels like it's going to pound out of my chest. Eric researched my symptoms and according to his cardiology book, this happens near the beginning of the third trimester. Sure enough, the doctor said it's normal and is because my belly is growing faster than my heart can handle and I should be careful to take it easy. Kudos to Eric for his diagnosis!

I also have to start going to see the doctor every 2 weeks. As much as that's going to feel like I'm always at the doctor, it means that we're getting closer! How exciting!!

Unofficially into the 3rd Trimester

I just looked at the pregnancy countdown and noticed it's less than 120 days, or 4 months. Since twins come about a month early, that's only 3 months to go! That means I'm unofficially into the 3rd trimester!!! WOW!
